Go Outside & Play

Here are some beautiful places to go where I can be in motion… outside, away from the sofa and even the gym. This page will grow as I progress on my journey toward being healthy and fit.

North Etiwanda Preserve
Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Length: 3.22 miles
Trail: Loop
Elevation gain: 624 feet
Best time of year: Spring
Best time of day: Early in the morning when it’s cool out and parking is available.
Level of difficulty: You definitely need to be moderately fit. It’s a great workout.
Sights to see: A small creek and waterfall at the top.

Dog Mountain
Location: Near Stevenson, WA
Length: 6.9 miles
Trail: Loop
Elevation gain: 2,800 feet
Best time of year: Late May/early June when the wildflowers are in bloom
Best time of day: Early morning
Level of difficulty:  Extremely strenuous
Sights to see: Columbia River Gorge, meadows covered with wildflowers, the peaks of Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens
